Manual handling of loads is defined as: "any transporting or supporting of a load by one or more employees that includes lifting, putting down, pushing, pulling, carrying or moving a load which, by reason of its characteristics or of unfavourable ergonomic conditions, involves risk particularly of back injury, to employees."

This course provides training which allows employers to meet their obligations under the relevant Safety, Health & Welfare at Work legislation.

Our professional trainers are QQI approved Manual Handling Instructors. Certification Certificates of completion are issued to delegates. Training should be seen as part of the overall risk management process as it relates to manual handling in the workplace. Site, task and environment specific training should be carried out regularly by the employer with suitable and sufficient risk assessments completed by a competent individual depending on the complexity of the task and other risk factors.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a training course which teaches people how to identify, understand and help someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue.
MHFA won’t teach you to be a therapist. However it will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis – and even potentially stop a crisis from happening.
Learning Outcomes
Trained Mental Health First Aiders will have:
LO1: An in depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing.
LO2: Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues.
LO3: Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress.
LO4: Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening.
LO5: Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, GP, HSE or a mix.
What to expect:
Learning takes place over two days, across four manageable sessions. Through a mix of group activities, presentations and discussions, each session is built around a Mental Health First Aid action plan.
Minimum attendees 8, maximum 16 per course so that the instructor can keep people safe and supported while they learn.
